I took this photo in 2007 not long after I bought my first macro lens and ring flash. This is the head of an Alium not long before it sprung into bloom. The skin tells you that this is a not too distant cousin of the onion
Taken with A Nikon D50, Sigma 105mm Macro Lens, Sigma Ring Flash at 1/60Sec, F22 or perhaps higher, I forget. I don't usually record this sort of technical info!
